Dr. Sathianathan is the Head of the School of Engineering Design, Technology & Professional Programs (SEDTAPP) in the College of Engineering . SEDTAPP offers programs in Engineering Design, Engineering Entrepreneurship, Leadership Development , and Engineering Technology.
Dr. Sathianathan joined SEDTAPP in 1991 with a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Penn State University, and BS in Mechanical Engineering from Oklahoma State University. He has taught courses in engineering design, computer aided engineering, and design communications. He has also published several books in design and computer aided design. His research area involves developing fluid flow visualization tools using neutron radiography. He is a member of the graduate faculty in the Department of Mechanical and Nuclear Engineering. He is also an affiliate faculty researcher at the Penn State Radiation Science & Engineering Center.
